And now, a brief lesson in spam prevention methods.

Writing out your e-mail address on a webpage is an invitation to be spammed to death. The popular (and less cumbersome that my verbal gymnastics) phrasing of "example at this domain" is trivial for a spam spider to crawl.

Other alternatives include clever scrambling of e-mail addresses with Javascript (a popular application to do this for you is Enkoder). If "The Client" insists on mailto: links, this approach will keep out the brute force spammers or those using spam spiders they don't understand. However, the more intelligent scum will still be able to scrape your address, and then sell it to the less intelligent scum.

So, web forms and language obfuscation are your best bets.
